Tonight, April 10th will be the premiere performance of "This is Going to Hurt," a new sketch and storytelling show written and performed by Glenn Boozan and Karin Hammerberg running at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theatre (307 W 26th Street).

For the past six months, Karin and Glenn have emailed each other every time they cried. The resulting list was so simultaneously sincere and ridiculous they knew they had to write a comedy show. About feelings. Glenn and Karin perform sketches where the characters are experiencing particularly heightened emotions. From cautiously joyful morticians to an embarrassed Jeffrey Dahmer, they hilariously cover the spectrum of feelings. For the finale, Karin and Glenn delve into their past struggles with eating disorders and suicide to tell heartfelt stories about the saddest moments in their lives. Then they tell late nightstyle monologue jokes about those stories in order to test the old adage "Tragedy plus Time equals Comedy."

Tickets are $5 and can be reserved at ucbtheatre.com. Specifically: http://newyork.ucbtheatre.com/shows/view/3798.
