Treasure Island Musical Hunting for Teen Male Star

Treasure Island has launched a search for the next "Jim Hawkins," one of the show's starring roles. The creative team is currently seeking a dynamic actor/singer for the part.

The actor should be male, ages 12-15.

Matt Cavenaugh, Noah Racey, Scott Barnhardt, Leo Ash Evens, Greg Roderick, Freddy Arsenault, Doan Mackenzie, Jim Ferris, Mike Masters, Meegan Midkiff, Mark Ludden and Michael Centanni will appear in the upcoming reading of Treasure Island, A New Musical. The show features Music and Lyrics by Corinne Aquilina, Book / Direction by Brett Smock and Book / Dramaturgy by Carla Vitale.

The show has previously had a workshop in upstate NY, as well as work at NYMF and the York Theatre Company.

The show's plot is said to be "Set to a thrilling score, Treasure Island, A New Musical is a daring adventure that re-examines the essence of heroism, the journey to maturity and the strength of the human psyche in the face of harrowing conditions. "

The show's bookwriter, Brett Smock tells us that "We are garnering solid interest and hope to continue to attract interested theatres and producers."
