In a bold new production, Tony Award winning director Michael Mayer has set Verdi's towering tragedy in the bright lights and seedy underbelly of 1960's Las Vegas.

The upcoming Met Opera broadcast stars Željko Lucic in the title role, and Diana Damrau as his beautiful daughter, who falls under the spell of Piotr Beczala's womanizing Duke.

Calling RIGOLETTO "wildly entertaining, inventive, strangely funny and...deeply sad," critics agree that Vegas is an ideal setting for this conflict of depravity and innocence.

The Metropolitan Opera broadcast can be seen at the Town Hall Theater on Sunday, February 24, beginning at 1:00 pm. Tickets are $24/$10 students, and may be purchased at 802 382-9222, www.townhalltheater.org, at the THT Box Office (Mon-Sat, noon-5 pm) or at the door.
