Tony Winning Set Designer Derek McLane to Design OSCAR Set for 4th Consecutive Year

BWW has just learned that Tony and Emmy-winning set designer Derek McLane (THE WIZ LIVE!) will return to design the sets for this year ACADEMY AWARDS for the fourth consecutive year.

McLane first took on the OSCAR set design duties in 2013, working with the producing team of Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Last year, he received an Art Directors Guild Award for his work on the annual awards show. This year he received two ADG Award nominations, one for his work on the OSCARS and the other for his brilliant set designs for NBC's THE WIZ LIVE.

Other recent awards include an Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Art Direction for Variety, Nonfiction, Reality or Reality-Competition Programming.

McLane is currently represented on Broadway by his sets for Beautiful: TheCarole King Musical His other Broadway select credits include Gigi, The Heiress, Nice Work If You Can Get It, The Best Man, Follies, Anything Goes, How to Succeed in Business..., Bengal Tiger in the Baghdad Zoo...., Million Dollar Quartet, Ragtime,33 Variations (Tony Award, Best Scenic Design), Grease, Little Women, The Pajama Game; I Am My Own Wife; The Women; Present Laughter.
