Toni Collette & Adam Scott Board Lionsgate's Christmas Horror Movie KRAMPUS

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Toni Collette and Adam Scott have joined the cast of Lionsgate's upcoming Christmas horror film KRAMPUS.

The film, written by Michael Dougherty and Todd Casey, follows "a family that comes under attack from a Santa Claus-like ancient entity who punishes bad kids.

Scott will play the father, a workaholic and rather absent dad who has to step up for his family.

Collette will play the mother, a woman who pretends everything is perfect with her family via her elaborate meals but will also have to dig deep to protect her family."

Zach Shields will direct.

Collette will star opposite Drew Barrymore in the upcoming drama 'Miss You Already,' now filming in London. She recently appeared alongside Michael C. Hall, Tracy Letts, and Marisa Tomei on Broadway in "The Realistic Joneses," a play written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Will Eno and directed by Sam Gold. Her upcoming films include "Lucky Them" (May 2014), "The Long Way Down" (July 2014), "The Boxtralls" (September 2014), and "Glassland."

Collette was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance in "The Sixth Sense" and won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe for "Best Actress in a Comedy Series" for her performance in Showtime's hit series "The United States of Tara."

On the big screen, Scott was seen last year co-starring in the indie comedy "A.C.O.D.," which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and released in theaters in October. He also appeared in "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," the Ben Stiller-directed remake that co-starred Stiller and Kristen Wiig. He recently wrapped production on "Hot Tub Time Machine 2."

Scott started a production company with his wife, Naomi Scott, called Gettin' Rad Productions, and together they have produced a series of specials for Adult Swim called "The Greatest Event in Television History." Gettin' Rad also has the option on the first novel by Chuck Klosterman, "Downtown Owl." Oren Uziel is attached as the writer.

In 2011, Scott starred in the romantic comedy "Friends with Kids," opposite Jon Hamm and Kristen Wiig. Additionally, he was seen in "See Girl Run" for producer David Gordon Green and "The Guilt Trip," which stars Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand. He also co-starred in "Bachelorette," opposite Kristen Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan, which premiered at Sundance.

Previously, Scott starred in the Starz original series "Party Down," which has since gained a cult following. He executive produced the series with Paul Rudd, Rob Thomas, Dan Etheridge and John Enbom. He also starred as Palek in the critically acclaimed HBO series "Tell Me You Love Me," and had a role on the HBO comedy series "Eastbound & Down," opposite Danny McBride.

Additionally, Scott portrayed Johnny Meyer - Howard Hughes' press agent - in the Oscar-nominated film "The Aviator," alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, John C. Reilly and Alec Baldwin for legendary director Martin Scorsese. Additional film credits include "August," a drama that was featured at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival; "Lovely, Still," with Martin Landau, Ellen Burstyn and Elizabeth Banks; horror film "Piranha 3D," which was directed by Alex Aja; the romantic comedy "Leap Year," opposite Amy Adams; the blockbuster comedy "Knocked Up," directed by Judd Apatow; "The Great Buck Howard," opposite John Malkovich, Colin Hanks and Tom Hanks; and "Art School Confidential," directed by acclaimed filmmaker Terry Zwigoff.
