ImprovBoston is kicking off 2013 by welcoming back comedian Todd Barry for a two show performance on Tuesday, January 22 at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Following his sold-out show at the 2011 Boston Comedy Arts Festival, Barry returns to ImprovBoston for a stop on his Crowd Work Tour. Tickets cost $15 and are available online at www.improvboston.com. ImprovBoston is located at 40 Prospect Street.

A typical Todd Barry show showcases Barry's deadpan wit in his pre-written jokes. In this show there will be no pre-written jokes. For two performances, Barry will be riffing and bantering with the audience.

"We are thrilled to have Todd Barry back at ImprovBoston," said Managing Director Zach Ward, "His last two shows were packed and it was great to see Boston comedy fans support a standup like Todd Barry. I'm especially looking forward to presenting his Crowd Work Tour, which fits the spirit of improvisation and everything we do at the Theater."

Bronx born and bred, Barry grew up a fan of Steve Martin, George Carlin, and Andy Kaufman. After spending years touring the Comedy Clubs, a 1998 Jury Award for Best Stand Up Comic at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen welcomed him to the big leagues. He is described as a Comic's Comic and has been featured on Conan, Late Show, Comedy Central, and more. He appeared in the final episode of the first season of Flight of the Conchords as Todd, the bongo playing megalomaniac who tried to rename the band. He has also appeared on Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist, Home Movies, Wonder Showzen, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. He was also in the Oscar-winner The Wrestler.
