On Friday, December 11 the Theater People Podcast released a special bonus episode featuring the anonymous social media personality Annoying Actor Friend who earlier this week revealed himself to be Andrew Briedis.

For the episode Briedis talks about why he was interested in creating the account, how he managed to stay anonymous for over three years, and why now was the perfect time for him to reveal his identity.

Briedis created the Annoying Actor Friend twitter account over three years ago, as a parody account aimed at poking fun at actors and show business. As the account grew in popularity--it currently has nearly 21,000 followers--Briedis expanded the scope of his tweet to include not just humor, but also social commentary and opinions on topical issues, like the controversy over dimming the Broadway lights in memory of Joan Rivers. As Annoying Actor Friend, Briedis published two books: 2013's #SoBlessed and last month's #Grateful. Backstage Magazine recently placed @Actor_Friend on its Future Broadway Power List alongside Tony nominated director, Alex Timbers. #SOBLESSED Live! (a concert in the theme of the book) has played three sold out engagements at Feinstein's/54.
