In the spring of 2010, author Willow Love survived a terrible flood that nearly destroyed the beautiful brick home she shared with her 15-year-old quadriplegic daughter and several pets. The experience inspired her latest book, "The Zeiglar Rules" (published by WestBow Press).

Rio, a long-haired dachshund, turns an abandoned house into a safe house for animals, welcoming a variety of cats, dogs, birds and other animals. Together they live by the Zeiglas House Rules, a collection of rules that govern the animals based on Christian principles.

When a powerful storm floods the safe house, Lilly, an Australian Sheppard, and Leo, a tuxedo cat, are swept downstream. All of the animals' hopes and dreams appear to be washed away with the waters, but through their perseverance and trust in God, they are able to come back together.

An excerpt from "The Zeiglar Rules":

"'Daddy! OH No! Please don't take our Daddy!' Leo heard his children crying in fear, because they did not want to lose him and his heart ached for them! As a last ditch effort he grabbed a hold of her tail and held on while the current tossed Leo up against Lilly."

Of her goals for the book, Love writes, "I hope my story will give the readers hope in the knowledge that God cares for them and they are not alone."
