Coming to the Players Ring this August is The Fire Giant, a play written and directed by Joe Nelson of Spaceman Theatre, the man that brought you Exhibit 13 and We Could Be Heroes.

The story of The Fire Giant unfolds through a series of flashbacks as an unnamed and calculating CIA Agent (Seth Waters) delves into the story of Captain Albert Jacques (Nelson). Throughout the course of his interviews with several of Jacques' subordinates (Alex Pease and Danny O'Leary), his Vietnamese paramour Ling (Dominique Salvacion), the camp Nurse (Katharine Jordan), and finally the mysterious Major Grant (James Fay) this agent uncovers a portrait of a man driven by id and ego to unspeakable savagery.

When the consequences of his actions finally catch up to him, Jacques must make the decision to either become the good man he always thought himself to be or die the mindless animal that everyone else assumes him to be.

Full of tense moments, strong language, and even stronger acting, The Fire Giant illustrates just what is meant by the phrase "Battle not with monsters lest ye become a monster".

The Fire Giant is being presented at the Players Ring in Portsmouth as part of their Late Night Summer Series. The show runs today, August 1,2,8, and 9th at 10PM and Aug 3rd and 10th at 9PM. Tickets available at the door, $12 for general admission and $10 for students, seniors, and Players Ring Members. The Players' Ring is located at 105 Marcy St. in Portsmouth, NH 03801.
