The Hartt School Presents Freshman Vocal Recitals

The Hartt School presents Freshman Vocal Recitals on Friday, September 10, at 8:00 PM, and Saturday, September 11, at 3:00 PM, in Berkman RecitAl Hall. Members of the Freshman Vocal Class perform songs and arias, accompanied by Doris Lang Kosloff on piano. Admission is free but seating is limited. The Hartt School presents the 2010-2011 Faculty Recital Series on Sunday, September 12, at 5:00 PM, in Berkman RecitAl Hall on the University of Hartford's West Hartford campus. Katie Lansdale, violin, and Margreet Francis, piano, perform in the first concert of the 2010-2011 series. Admission is free but seating is limited. The Hartt School presents the Hartt's Costume Shop Sale on Saturday, September 18, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, in The Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Foundation Theater in the Mort and Irma Handel Performing Arts Center, 35 Westbourne Parkway, Hartford. Hartt's spectacular costume shop has costumes from the Greek/Medieval time period to the present for sale. All are welcome to attend. Admission is free. The Hartt School presents the 2010- 2011 Faculty Recital Series on Sunday, September 19, at 2:00 PM in Berkman RecitAl Hall on the University of Hartford's West Hartford campus. Acclaimed saxophone player Carrie Koffman, performs the second concert in the series. Admission is free but seating is limited. The Hartt School Presents the Hartford Piano Society

The Hartt School presents the Hartford Piano Society on Sunday, September 26, at 3:00 PM, in Millard Auditorium on the University of Hartford's West Hartford campus. Pianist Mariangela Vacatello, a 2009 Van Cliburn Competition Finalist and winner of the audience online vote, will perform Schumann's Sonata No. 2 in G minor Op. 22, Ivan Fedele's Three Etudes Boreales (1990), Shostakovich's Prelude and Fugue in D flat major Op. 87 No. 15, Chopin's Andante Spianot et Grande Polonaise brillante Op. 22, and Stravinsky's Trios mouvements de Petrouchka. Admission is $15 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors. In addition to the concert, Vacatello presents a piano master class on Monday, September 27, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Millard Auditorium. This master class is free and open to the public and is presented by The Musical Club of Hartford, Inc.
