The Broadway Workshop Offers Lonny Price Special Class 3/22

The Broadway Workshop, Manhattan's fastest growing acting program for young artists has teamed up with Broadway, TV and Filmdirector Lonny Price star for its next one day master class.

This special teen class will take place Sunday March 22, 2009 in New York City.This Workshop will give students the opportunity to work on every area of musical theater performance. The class will focus on giving young actors the tools necessary tohelp them stand out from the crowd and take their audition and performance skills tothe next level.

Students will work on Song Interpretation, musical theatre auditiontechnique, and dance audition combination with a special guest choreographer."We are so excited to welcome Mr. Price to The Broadway Workshop," said MarcTumminelli director of The Broadway Workshop. "Our students have been asking for ateen program like this and I am thrilled to finally bring it to them "Lonny Price's Recent Broadway directing credits include; the Tony Nominated 110 in theShade starring Audra McDonald.

Lonny also directed and co-authored the Ed Klebanmusical A Class Act on Broadway (five Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical)and in Los Angeles and Tokyo. He won an Emmy for his film of Sweeney Todd with PattiLuPone (broadcast on PBS), Other Broadway include: Sally Marr...and her escorts, MASTER HAROLD...and the boys and Urban Cowboy. Lonny served as staff director ofABC's One Life to Live (Emmy nomination).

As an actor, he has appeared in many moviesincluding Dirty Dancing and on and Off-Broadway in a variety of plays and musicalsincluding Burn This, The Immigrant, MASTER HAROLD...and the boys, Rags, A Class Actand Merrily We Roll Along, receiving an Obie, Theatre World and Drama-Logue Award This one day class is designed for student's ages 14-17 and will take place on Sunday March 22nd from 11 am -2 pm.
