The Ashe Collective hosts Inaugural Benefit to raise funds for upcoming show Decolonizing My Vagina and to support Maisiti Yukayeke TAINO

Libations and celebrations in the name of DECOLONIZING! Decolonzing My Vagina that is. Join The Ashe Collective on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 8pm at a beautiful apartment on the West End of Manhattan for fancy hors de oeuvres, delicious wine generously donated by An Approach To Relaxation, and community as we raise glasses and funds for Decolonizing My Vagina, now set for production at the New Ohio Theatre in August.

Twenty-five percent of the funds raised will go to Maisiti Yukayeke TAINO, for the sustainability of Taino culture. The remaining will be split between the creative team, production costs, and future iterations of the show. Decolonizing My Vagina is an evening of ritual, ridiculous storytelling, and magic inspired by the many encounters of Cristina Pitter. It features the music of Experimental Avante Garde Soul Singer, Starr Bubsy and the direction of Jordana De La Cruz. This one night event is being brought to life by the generousity and love of Kevin Laibson and Nic Adams, as part of the Ice Factory 2017 Fridays on Ice late-night performance salon at the New Ohio Theatre. Decolonizing My Vagina will be performed at the New Ohio Theater on Friday, August 4, at 10:30 pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at https://web.ovationtix.com/trs/pe/10181052.

Fridays on Ice is Ice Factory's late night performance salon. Featuring artists creating work not usually seen in downtown theatre spaces, but more typically found in nightclubs, bars, and private apartments, each evening is individually hosted by an impresario of this alternative storytelling community, and features cutting-edge micro-works by some of NYC's cagiest short-form theater-makers.
