The 27th annual Alzheimer's Association's New York Rita Hayworth Gala will be held on Tuesday, October 26th at the Waldorf=Astoria Hotel, New York. One of New York City's most prestigious and successful fundraising events, the theme of the Rita Hayworth Gala this year is "Experience the Mystery," Vibrant colors, seductive sounds and exotic tastes all speak to the allure of Eastern culture. Taking their cue from the masters of luxury and glamour, the Alzheimer's Association Rita Hayworth Gala will expand the mystical opulence of the East right here in New York City. The evening will feature entertainment by Grammy Award Winning singer Rosanne Cash. Over the course of Rosanne's career she has released 12 albums, 11 No. 1 singles and has just published her long-awaited memoir.

The evening, as always, is also a time to shine a light on the ongoing mystery of Alzheimer's disease, which affects more than 5 million Americans and is the 7th leading cause of death in the U.S. With the continued support of our generous of donors, the Alzheimer's Association works tirelessly to unravel the mysteries of this devastating disease, while providing individuals and families with critical guidance and resources. We hope you will join us at the 2010 Rita Hayworth Gala, as we participate in a spectacular evening of dinner, dancing, and renewed hope toward a future without Alzheimer's disease.

Since their inceptions, Rita Hayworth Galas in New York, Chicago and Dallas have raised more than $53 million. Funds raised support the Alzheimer's Association's efforts to enhance care and support for all affected and eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research. Princess Yasmin Aga Khan established the Gala as a tribute to her mother, Rita Hayworth, who lived with Alzheimer's disease for many years before her death in 1987. She has remained an active leader, as General Chair of the Rita Hayworth Galas, inspiring generous financial support for the Alzheimer's Association.
