Tarzan Stars to Perform at World of Disney on March 15

Josh Strickland and Jenn Gambatese, also known as Tarzan and Jane, and Michael Lassell, author of Disney Editions' book "TARZAN®: The Broadway Adventure" are swinging onto Fifth Avenue for an afternoon event featuring a theatrical performance, book signing and question and answer session at the World of Disney New York City. (5th Avenue and 55th Street). The event will take place today, Thursday, March 15 at 4 p.m. and will conclude at 6 p.m.

Guests will have the opportunity to talk with award winning author Michael Lassell and hear a passage from his book "TARZAN®: The Broadway Adventure." Afterwards, Josh Strickland and Jenn Gambatese will transform the World of Disney New York City with a Broadway performance of songs from TARZAN®. Lassell, Strickland and Gambatese will then be available to sign copies of the book and answer questions from guest about their experience with the production.

"TARZAN®: The Broadway Adventure" is an intimate backstage look at the creation of the new musical TARZAN®, based on the hit Disney animated film and featuring the music and lyrics of GRAMMY® and Oscar®-winner Phil Collins. The book offers a glance at the production from the inside, including production commentary, design sketches and inspiration, interviews with the creative team and never-before-seen photos. Lassell has also previously written other titles published by Disney Editions including, "Aida," "Celebration—The Story of a Town" and "Disney on Broadway."

A native of South Carolina, Josh Strickland originated the role of Tarzan. Before completing a national tour of "Rent," where Strickland performed the roles of Mark and Rodger, he was a finalist on Fox television's "American Idol" and appeared on ABC's "Star Search 2004."

Jenn Gambatese, who performs the role of Jane, has most recently starred on Broadway in "All Shook Up," "Hairspray," "A Year with Frog and Toad" and "Footloose." Gambatese has also been seen in film and television in "The Good Shepard" and "All My Children."

In addition to performances Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Thursday at 8:00 p.m., TARZAN® plays five weekend performances: Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. There are three easy ways to get tickets to TARZAN® – Online at www.DisneyOnBroadway.com, via Ticketmaster at (212) 307-4747 or www.ticketmaster.com and in person at the Richard Rodgers box office (226 West 46th Street).
