TOSOS ("The Other Side of Silence") is dedicated to preserving the theatrical heritage of the LGBT community through the development of new plays by emerging artists as well as revivals of established works. Their productions honestly explore the unique LGBT experience and cultural sensibilities in a life-affirming and respectful way. TOSOS was originally formed in 1974 by playwright Doric Wilson. During its five-year existence, this first TOSOS featured new plays and revivals by playwrights from Brendan Behan and Noel Coward to Terrence McNally, Robert Patrick, Martin Sherman, and Lanford Wilson.

Reborn in 2001, the new TOSOS annually stages Off-Off-Broadway productions of new or classic LGBT-themed plays, and develops new works every year through its Chesley / Chambers Playwright and Ethyl Eichelberger Solo Show Projects.
TOSOS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Ben Strothmann makes his official debut as the playwright/author of Virtual Memory, which will wrap up HOT! The NYC Celebration of Queer Culture
Friday, Aug. 4, at 7:30 p.m.
Dixon Place, 161A Chrystie St., NYC

Virtual Memory traces Ben's often comical and compelling journey from growing up gay in Milwaukee Wisconsin, to learning how to love himself as a gay man in Manhattan.

As a kid, he says he discovered he was gay when he started developing crushes on cartoon characters, like Foghorn Leghorn and the Pink Panther. And then there's the time when Ben openly declared his love for another boy ... in first grade. As an grownup, Ben candidly recalls his adult adventures in New York's ''sexual playground.''

Tickets are $15 in advance; $18 at the door. Students/seniors: $12.
Ovation Tix: (866) 811-4111.
