Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? opened Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the Booth Theatre, exactly 50 years to the day of the play's original Broadway opening on Saturday, October 13, 1962. MCC Theater presented the world premiere production of Don't Go Gentle by Stephen Belber and directed by Lucie Tiberghien on October 14, at the Rattlestick Theater. On October 12, 2012, The New York Pops orchestra launched its 30th Season at Carnegie Hall with Some Enchanted Evening: The Music of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The performance featured guest artists Aaron Lazar, Kelli O'Hara and Paulo Szot, along with Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA and New York Theatre Ballet. The program included classics from Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I and The Sound of Music at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. Rehearsals are underway for the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) production of Pippin, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, book by Roger O. Hirson, directed by A.R.T.
