The highly acclaimed Broadway production of End of the Rainbow played its final performance on Sunday, August 19. The production, which began performances on Monday, March 19, 2012 and opened to rave reviews on Monday, April 2, will have played a total of 176 performances at Broadway’s Belasco Theatre. Tracie Bennett’s Broadway debut and star turn garnered her the 2012 Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Theater World Awards, as well as a 2012 Tony® Award nomination. She led a cast that featured 2012 Tony® Award-nominee Michael Cumpsty, Tom Pelphrey and Jay Russell. To view more photos of the show's farewell curtain click here.

Harvey Fierstein

Kinky Boots, the highly anticipated new musical that brings together four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Music & Lyrics), will begin preview performances on Broadway at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, with an official opening night set for Thursday, April 4, 2013. Ed Asner, Kate Arrington, Paul Rudd, Michael Shannon

The cast of Broadway's GRACE met the press at Grace Hotel on August 21, 2012, in New York City. The acclaimed American play written by Award-winning writer Craig Wright and directed by Dexter Bullard, will star Paul Rudd and Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon, with Kate Arrington and seven-time Emmy Award-winner Ed Asner. The show begins previews at the Cort Theatre on Thursday, September 13th, with an official opening night set for Thursday, October 4, 2012. View full photo coverage of the event here.

Lori Hammel, Karyn Quackenbush, Regina LeVert, Meghan Duffy

THE BIKINIS is currently being presented by Goodspeed Musicals as the final production of their three-show season. Destined to be a summer smash, this fun-loving, finger-snappin’ blast-from-the-past is chock-full of hit tunes from the 60s and 70s. It is now playing through September 9th. The First National Tour of THE BOOK OF MORMON launched earlier this month in Denver and will run through September 2 at The Ellie Caulkins Opera House. United Airlines’ Taste of Broadway concert took place in lower Manhattan on August 23rd at the World Financial Center Plaza. The free outdoor concert was hosted by 2012 Tony Award® winners Judy Kaye and Michael McGrath, who are currently performing in Nice Work If You Can Get It, and featured performances from the casts of: CHICAGO, MAMMA MIA!, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, ROCK OF AGES, and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Patrick Page, Clémence Poésy, Douglas Hodge

Roundabout Theatre Company will present Tony Award winner Douglas Hodge as “Cyrano” in a new Broadway production of Cyrano de Bergerac. Clémence Poésy will make her Broadway debut as “Roxane” and Broadway veteran Patrick Page will play "Comte De Guiche." The production will begin previews on September 14, 2012 and open officially on October 11, 2012 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. John Larroquette

A public celebration was held on Broadway to honor the literary and theatrical career of Gore Vidal on August 23. The event took place at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, currently home to the Tony-nominated revival of Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, which concludes its limited engagement on Sunday, September 9, 2012. Friends and admirers from film, television and theatre presented selections of Vidal’s famous works, as well as share personal remembrances and stories. Emi Wokoma

Bill Kenwright and John Miller present a strictly limited West End season of SOUL SISTER, the new musical inspired by the music, life and times of Ike and Tina Turner. Featuring Emi Wokoma as ‘Tina Turner’, SOUL SISTER opened at London's Savoy Theatre on August 23rd and will run through September 29th. CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. A full track list for this year's 14th edition has not yet been announced, but the cast of Broadway-Bound REBECCA was already hard at work recording their track for the album this week.
