THEY SAVED HITLER'S BRAIN Returning As Sci-Fi Musical Comedy Film

According to Variety, Napoleon Dynamite Producer Chris Wyatt and Mark Altman are launching a remake of the 1963 schlock classic "They Saved Hitler's Brain" as a sci-fi musical comedy.

The duo have partnered with the original movie's owner, Crown Intl. Pictures, which released the picture theatrically. The original, set in South America, revolved around a secret attempt to preserve Hitler's brain in the hopes of raising a Fourth Reich. Nazi madmen preserve his brain on a small tropical island until the time is right to resurrect him and, along with him, the Third Reich

The remake will feature songs and book by Jon and Al Kaplan, who penned the Fringe Fest hit parody SILENCE! The Musical" and "24: Season 2 -- The Musical."

Altman will produce through his Maltman Entertainment shingle along with Wyatt. Steve Kriozere is penning the script and will also produce through Drink Octopus shingle. Altman's credits include "DOA: Dead or Alive" and "House of the Dead." He's partnered with Kriozere on a remake of Crown's 1983 release "My Tutor."

SILENCE! The Musical was the winner of the 2005 FringeNYC award for Outstanding Musical.

SILENCE!, an unauthorized parody based on the Academy Award-winning film, The Silence of the Lambs, sold out its entire initial Fringe run before the festival opened, and is the highest-grossing Fringe production to date. With music and lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan and book by Hunter Bell ([title of show]), SILENCE! follows F.B.I. trainee Clarice Starling as she uses her relationship with Dr. Hannibal Lecter to hunt serial killer Buffalo Bill. "The production transforms the film's dialogue into a full-scale musical, complete with singing serial killers, unprintable titles, and a chorus of tap-dancing lambs," stated press notes.
