In an interview with USA Today, Joy Williams, one half of the Grammy Award winning duo The Civil Wars, confirmed that although the group is officially on hiatus, they still have plans to release a new album on August 6th.

In a recent press release it was announced that the duo would be abruptly ending their European Tour as her and her husband John Paul White are not speaking. There are currently no plans for them to resume the tour together at the moment.

'John Paul and I aren't speaking right now but to me that doesn't determine the outcome of the band because if we're not speaking we can't determine the outcome of the band at this moment," she said. 'So the other elephant in the room is what's happening with the band? The reality is I'm not even quite sure.'

The duo met after being put together for songwriting sessions for an already established country group and their chemistry was readily apparent. In 2012 they won two Grammys and earlier this year took home another for their contribution to 'The Hunger Games' Soundtrack.
