Sydney James Harcourt, Doreen Montalvo and Timothy Ware to Offer Musical Highlights at Amas This Month

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Song Salon will offer a special presentation with three rising Broadway talents -- Sydney James Harcourt (Hamilton), Doreen Montalvo (On Your Feet) and Timothy Ware (Kinky Boots) -- who will present musical highlights from their respective shows. The evening will be held on Monday, November 30 in a spectacular, sky-high location on West 57th Street.

The evening will begin at 6pm with cocktails and light dinner, followed by the performance and post-performance discussion at 7:30pm. Tickets are $105 (tax deductible as allowed law) and may be purchased online at www.amasmusical.org or by calling 212-563-2565. This is a one time event and the seating is limited.

The Amas Song Salon series, from New York's award-winning Amas Musical Theatre, is designed to present up-close and personal soirees celebrating the Broadway songbook and some of its brightest talents in a relaxed environment. Intimate, entertaining and informative.

Sydney James Harcourt - Broadway: Hamilton, Bells Are Ringing, American Idiot, The Lion King, Camelot (Lincoln Center). Regional: Joseph...Dreamcoat (Joseph - DTC), Dreamgirls (Curtis - Signature Theater), The Rocky Horror Show (Rocky - Old Globe), The Wiz (Tin Man - DTC). New York Theater: Camelot (Lincoln Center), Showboat (Carnegie Hall), Unlock'd (The Baron - New Duke). Television credits include guest stars on "The Good Wife," "Younger," "Person of Interest" and "Law & Order." He is the front man for the New Deco Orchestra.

Doreen Montalvo is a theatre/television/film performer/recording artist currently in the Broadway musical On Your Feet. Other credits include Broadway: In The Heights; Tour: Flashdance The Musical; New York Theatre: Cubamor(New York Live Arts), The Piper (Irish Repertory Theatre), The Countess of Storyville (Amas), Disenchanted (Cherry Lane), The Tenth Floor, Magpie (New York Music Theatre Festival /Amas), Senor Discretion Himself (MTC), Havana Under The Sea (Intar), and La Lupe, My Life, My Destiny (Puerto Rican Travelling Theatre). Doreen can be heard singing on many CD's including three Broadway Cares Christmas albums, "Dare To Go Beyond" (Revolucion Latina), the original cast recordings of In The Heights, Giant, Desiree, Frida and in 2004 released her solo debut CD, "Volvere" with Meme Solis (2005 selection for Latin Grammy and American Grammy consideration). Doreen is currently recording her latest CD "Alma Americana/Corazon Latina" (American Soul/Latin Heart). A veteran of musical theatre Doreen has toured the country and starred in such productions as West Side Story (Anita), Man of La Mancha (Aldonza), Nunsense (Sr. Hubert), Sweet Charity (Nicky), among many others. Doreen has also taken her solo cabaret act around South America, the Carribbean, Mexico, and up and down The Mississippi River. She also performs in a show she created called "Ladies Night" in cabarets all around NYC, as well as her solo show "I've Just Got To Sing My Song." Doreen has performed at 54 Below, Joes Pub, BB Kings NYC, The Metropolitan Room, The Triad, The Laurie Beechman theatre. She is a recent alum of the Eugene O'Neill Cabaret Symposium in Waterford Ct.

Timothy Ware is a native of Montgomery, AL where he received a BA in Theater Arts from Alabama State University. He then continued his studies at UCLA in the MFA Acting Program under the direction of Tony Winner, Mel Shapiro (Two Gentlemen of Verona). Timothy started writing short stories and poetry by the age of 6. Always with a vivid imagination, he was known as the "I have an idea" kid in his family. He began training in music, dance and creative writing from the age of 10. It's his sense of adventure and love for the arts that led him to become a writer. He is currently on Broadway in the Tony Winning Musical Kinky Boots where he has graced the stage as the sassy, but lovable character, Lola. Other credits include: Directing Ain't Misbehavin' & Jelly's Last Jam (Kuntu Rep./Pittsburg, PA); Dutchman & Shout! (Lelia Barlow Theatre/Montgomery, AL). Associate Choreographer forGodspell, Beehive, Guys & Dolls (Alabama Shakespeare Festival) and Ain't Misbehavin' (South Bay Musical Theatre/ San Jose, CA). He worked as a dance instructor and choreographer in Los Angeles, CA at the Amazing Grace Conservatory with founder and TV/Film Star, Wendy Raquel-Robinson ("The Steve Harvey Show" & "The Game").

Christopher Scott (Director) is Artistic Associate at Amas Musical Theatre where he has directed productions for the Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy (RLMTA) for the past 15 years. He most recently directed The Glass Menagerie and A Midsummer Night's Dream for MasterWorks, Lorenzo at NYMF and A Mother's Love by Michael Watson, starring Jan Maxwell. Off-Broadway: Nancy Friday's My Secret Garden, For Lovers Only, Golf: The Musical!, Tails, The Big Bang, The Broadway Kids Sing Broadway and Theatreworks USA. David Caldwell (Composer/Music Director) has been the music director of Forbidden Broadway since 2004. He composed music and lyrics for All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten and Uh-Oh Here Comes Christmas, both based on the writing of Robert Fulghum. He also composed music for Fulghum's novel Third Wish.Recently he composed music for Gotta Getta Girl, with lyrics by Peter Charles Morris. He conducted the American premiere of Stephen Schwartz's Children of Eden. He recently music-directed Murder For Two Off-Broadway, as well as two shows in China, with Inner Mongolian authors and casts. He arranged and orchestrated Marvin Hamlisch's song "I'm Really Dancing" for Career Transitions for Dancers' 25th Anniversary Gala, featuring Angela Lansbury, Chita Rivera and Bebe Neuwirth. He is interviewed at length in Oliver Sacks' book about music and the brain,Musicophilia.

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) now in its 47th year of continuous operation is New York City's award-winning pioneer in diversity and multi-ethnic casting in the performing arts since 1968.
