Sutton Foster & Hunter Foster Announce 60th Outer Critics Circle Nominations 4/26

Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, is proud to report that Broadway stars, and brother and sister, Sutton Foster and Hunter Foster will publicly announce the nominees for the 2009-10 season on Monday, April 26th (11AM) at the historic Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street). Outer Critics Circle will post award nominations in 23 categories and are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theater season.

Sutton Foster was nominated for a Tony Award a total of five times and won the esteemed award for her performance in the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Twice she has won the Outer Critics Award for Outstanding Actress in a musical: Thoroughly Modern Millie and Shrek. Aside from starring roles in Young Frankenstein and The Drowsy Chaperone, she is currently appearing in the City Center's Encore Series Anyone Can Whistle.

Hunter Foster has earned a Tony and an Outer Critics Circle nomination for his performance in Urinetown, and another Tony nomination for Little Shop of Horrors. A gifted writer and librettist, he is currently featured in the musical Million Dollar Quartet.

Celebrating its 60th season of bestowing awards of excellence in the field of theater, the Outer Critics Circle is an association with members affiliated with more than ninety newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations, and theatre publications in America and abroad.

The winners of the following categories will be announced on Monday, May 17th and the annual awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 27th (4PM) at the legendary Sardi's Restaurant.
