Strawdog Theatre Company, Artistic Director Hank Boland and Hugen Hall Artistic Director Anderson Lawfer are proud to announce the third production in their 2014 - 2015 Hugen Hall season, Jules Verne's classic novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, adapted by Clint Sheffer and Ann Sonneville, March 8 - April 7, directed by ensemble member Mike Mroch at Hugen Hall in Strawdog Theatre Company, 3829 N. Broadway Street. Opening night performance is Monday, March 9 at 8 p.m. The performance schedule is Saturdays at 4 p.m., Sundays at 12 p.m., and Monday and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Preview tickets are $10, single tickets are $15 and are currently on sale. Based on availability, a limited number of rush tickets are available at 50% off one hour prior to curtain and must be purchased in person at the box office. Performances are recommended for children aged 10 years and older. Subscriptions, group, senior and student discounts are also available. Directed by ensemble member Mike Mroch, this daring new adaptation uses live music, action and squid to immerse you in the world of the Nautilus as the enigmatic Captain Nemo (Kathrynne Wolf) forces three heroes on an unprecedented journey.

The cast also includes Mike Steele, Lee Russell, Walls Trimble, Brad Brubaker, Scott Cupper, Emilie Modaff, Erin O'Brien, Austin Oie, Alexis Randolph, Skylar Schrempp, and Kelsey Shipley. The production team includes Strawdog Company members John Kelly, light designer; Heath Hays, sound designer; with guest artists Dustin Pettigrew, set design; Cassandra Bass, costume design; Przemyslaw Bosak, composer/music director; R&D Choreography, fight choreographers; Jamie Karas, props design; Kristin Craig, stage manager; Spencer Diedrick, assistant director; and Rebecca Grossman, production manager.

Strawdog Theatre Company continues their partnership with the Access Project at Victory Gardens to present 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, in the Prince Charitable Trust Rehearsal Room, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. The 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea performance, Thursday, April 2 at 8 p.m., with a touch tour at 6:45 p.m., is fully wheelchair accessible. Audio description and open captioning will also be provided. Immediately following that night's performance there is a post show discussion.
