My Big Gay Italian Wedding will host a very special performance on Saturday, March 8th, 2014 when Angela Scotto Carannante takes to the stage to officiate the wedding of "Anthony Pinnunziato" and "Andrew Polinski."

Angela Scotto Carannante, better known as "Signora" to most who know her in the Staten Island Community where she has worked as an educator and Assistant Principal for over thirty years. Always a Patron of the Arts, who as a little girl was called Sarah Bernhardt by her pediatrician who said she was the most melodramatic child he knew. As a Supervisor of the Academy of Fine and Dramatic Arts (AFADA) at New Dorp High School she has had the opportunity to be the "Executive Producer" of the Black Box Theatre Productions. Angela was also a strong advocate for students in Staten Island during the "It Gets Better" campaign. During that time she brought back Playwright and former student Anthony (Fiore) Wilkinson, to tell his real life story to an auditorium full of students from her school.

Angela's debut in "My Big Gay Italian Wedding" sets forth a very strong message of support and acceptance towards marriage equality. Wilkinson says this is another step in the right direction. "Angela is one of my strongest influences growing up, I am so happy to give her this opportunity and allow her to continue to educate students by sending the right message. Staten Island has come such a long way and this is yet another positive voice from a powerful woman in the world of education."

Presented by Bianco Productions, both My Big Gay Italian Wedding and My Big Gay Italian Funeral are directed by Emmy Award-winning director Sonia Blangiardo ("All My Children", "One Life To Live, "As the World Turns") and star its creator Anthony J.
