Grand Central Terminal invites visitors and commuters to a three-day event -- "Grand Central Summer Send-Off" -- featuring free, family-friendly entertainment in Vanderbilt Hall, August 24-26, 2016.

Formerly known as Life's a Picnic, this year's event is focused on family fun with special performances, daily raffles, face painting, and arts and crafts provided by Grand Central shops like Kidding Around Toys and LittleMissMatched.

Brooklyn Children's Museum will also host daily educational programs. Broadway performers from "Wicked," "Something Rotten!" and "Kinky Boots," and Grammy award winner Tim Kubart and his Loog Guitar, will bring the musical entertainment each day.*

With Astroturf flooring, picnic tables bedecked with classic gingham tablecloths, and live entertainment, visitors can relax in air-conditioned comfort, purchase food and treats from select vendors setting up shop in Vanderbilt Hall, and receive a free gift with a $5 food purchase. Participating food and drink vendors include Shake Shack, Jacques Torres Ice Cream, Li-Lac Chocolates, Café Grumpy, and Zaro's Family Bakery among others.

The event will run Wednesday - Friday, 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Grand Central Terminal, Vanderbilt Hall, 89 E. 42 St., New York, NY 10017. For the full schedule and the most up-to-date information on entertainment and participating vendors, visit the website here.
