Stage and Screen Star Rosemarie DeWitt Joins Hudson & Bernal in 'Earthbound' Flick

Variety reports that stage and screen star Rosemarie Dewitt has been cast alongside Kate Hudson and Gael Garcia Bernal Earthbound for Film Department.

In the film, penned by Gren Wells and directed by Nicole Kassell, tells the story of a terminally ill woman (Hudson) who falls for her doctor (Bernal). Production is scheduled to begin in late January in Louisiana.

DeWitt, who will portray the best friend and confidante of Hudson's character, will star in MCC's upcoming production of Beth Henley's Family Week in the spring. On stage, she most notably starred in John Patrick Shanley's Danny and the Deep Blue Sea at the Second Stage Theatre; George S. Kaufman's The Butter and Egg Man at the Atlantic Theater Company; and Craig Lucas' Small Tragedy, for which the entire cast won an Obie Award. She is best known for her roles in the film Rachel Getting Married, the FOX series Standoff, and Showtime's The United States of Tara.
