Andrew Kay, Managing Director of Andrew Kay & Associates has announced that the highly acclaimed Soweto Gospel Choir will return to Australia to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a national tour. With concerts at Womadadelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney Opera House, Soweto Gospel Choir will perform for an exclusive one performance only at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday 14 March, 2013.

"Over the last 10 years Soweto Gospel Choir has brought joy into the lives of audiences all over the world. They have collaborated, recorded and performed with artists including Bono and U2, Robert Plant, Celine Dion, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Peter Gabriel, Josh Grobin as well as Andre Rieu. They have performed in front of Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey and of course their spiritual fathers, Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. But it all started in Australia in 2003 with their first ever ticketed performance at the Frankston Arts Centre.

The streets of Soweto to the streets of Frankston felt like a long journey 10 years ago. And it was. Since that day, Soweto Gospel Choir has gone from completely unknown to heralded around the world as one of the great vocal ensembles. Along the way they have won 2 Grammy's, an Emmy and an Oscar nomination, and have just recorded their 6th album. Soweto Gospel Choir is thrilled to be coming back to Australia to be part of Womadelaide and to share their 10th birthday celebration with Australian audiences that made it all possible." said Andrew Kay, Managing Director of Andrew Kay & Associates.

The concert will take place on Thursday 14 March, 2013 at the Sydney Opera House, Concert Hall. Bookings: sydneyoperahouse.com / 9250 7777 or ticketmaster.com.au / 136 100.
