The Polar Express 4-D Experience is now playing in the South Carolina Aquarium 4-D Immersion Theater through January 1, 2014. Children and adults of all ages are invited to see The Polar Express come to life.

The movie and a visit to the Aquarium is the perfect family activity to kick-off the holiday season. 4-D Theater tickets can be purchased as part of the Premier Pass to the Aquarium, or individually for $6.95. Movie length is approximately 15 minutes with multiple show times daily. The state's only 4-D Immersion Theater combines 3-D imagery, interactive seating and waves of special effects such as gusts of wind, the smell of hot chocolate, flurries of snow and movement under your feet, all synchronized to the film. The 50-seat theater sits adjacent to the Aquarium and is handicap accessible.

The Polar Express 4-D Experience is based on the inspiring and beloved Caldecott Medal children's book by Chris Van Allsburg. A doubting young boy takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole, and he embarks on a journey of self-discovery that shows him the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

More holiday fun begins November 29, 2013!
The holiday fun only just begins with the Polar Express; join us starting November 29 for Scuba Claus diving in our Great Ocean Tank, and the debut appearance of the Shark on a Shelf. Scuba Claus will join the hundreds of animals in the 385,000 gallon, two-story tall Great Ocean Tank during special dive shows. The man in big red scuba gear will be joined by his special elf helper to talk with guests about the gifts of the sea he is swimming with like sharks, pufferfish and even a 230-pound resident loggerhead sea turtle Caretta. Scuba Claus dives daily at 11 a.m. November 29 through December 23. After you visit Scuba Claus, be sure to explore the Aquarium to see if you can spot our Shark on a Shelf; once you find him receive a festive holiday prize.
