Digitalspy.com reports that the family of X FACTOR Season 2 runner up, Carly Rose Sonenclar is blaming singer LeAnn Rimes for their daughter's loss on last Wednesday night's episode. According to the report, sources reveal that Sonenclar's mother feels the country star "trashed" the duet which she performed with the 13-year-old and ruined her daughter's chances of claiming the top prize.

There has been speculation that Rimes was drunk while she dueted on the December 20th show, yet according to TMZ, the singer implied that her performance was due to a case of nerves on the part of the young contestant. "I was trying to help this 13-year-old girl who was having some trouble with the song," Rimes reportedly told the site.

While Rimes now denies making the comment, TMZ stands behind its claim that the singer's representative supplied them with the quote.

Country singer Tate Stevens was crowned the winner of The X Factor USA. Along with a recording contract, he also received a $5 million prize.

Sonenclar has appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables and Wonderland, and has also taken the stage in NYMF's The Night of the Hunter (2006) and the national tour of Little House on the Prairie the Musical.
