Los Angeles-based indie pop group Smallpools has joined forces with Smule, the leading developer of mobile music apps, to bring songs from their new album to fans and music enthusiasts around the world. Using Smule's award winning Magic Piano and Sing! Karaoke, Smallpools fans can accompany the band or even perform video duets with band frontman Sean Scanlon, sharing their musical talents with the world through Smule's network of 26 million active users. The piano tracks and duet in the two apps come from Smallpools' new album, LOVETAP!, released this week on RCA Records.

"Working with Smule gave us the unique opportunity to interact with our fans on a whole new level," said Michael Kamerman, Smallpools. "It also exposed our music to hundreds of thousands of new listeners and we had a fantastic time watching everyone get down with our Open Call."

In February, Smallpools released a duet "Open Call" on Sing! Karaoke, allowing singers to perform a video duet with vocalist Sean Scanlon to the band's aptly-named hit "Karaoke." For the Magic Piano app, Smallpools released the vocal track to their song "Karaoke," allowing people to accompany Sean on piano.

"Smule sits someplace between the record and the concert, affording new and unique opportunities for fans to engage with their favorite artists such as Smallpools," said Dr. Jeffrey C. Smith, CEO and co-founder, Smule. "Singing 'Karaoke' alongside Sean in Smule is perhaps the next best thing to singing with Sean from a front row seat. He's amazing."

The lyric video for the first single "Karaoke" premiered on NYLON HERE. Listen to the single "Karaoke" produced Ricky Reed and John Ryan HERE. Spotify is streaming the album as part of The Drop Program. Smallpools recently performed "Karaoke" on NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers. Watch it HERE. The band performed at SXSW in Austin, Texas last week and is now headed to their 32-date USA tour (see below for dates).

Press are already praising "Karaoke" with Hilly Dilly saying ""Karaoke" "...follows up some of the best new pop we've heard in a while, and the band has really hit the nail on the head when it comes to the song's actual sound." Baeble Music noted, "The energetic new track is lighthearted, lots of fun, and makes you want to grab a mic and sing along." Earmilk said, "Like a breath of fresh air, Smallpools build on their style with the momentum behind "Karaoke." Beginning in 2013, Smallpools has quickly accelerated according to High Voltage Magazine, "...we've watched them grow and they've covered a ton of tour ground garnering a fantastic fan base literally built upon the infectious nature of their live shows."

Sing! Karaoke and Magic Piano are free to download on both the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Learn more about the apps at http://www.smule.com.

About Smallpools
After bursting onto the scene with their 4 song self-titled EP, Smallpools has toured to all corners of North America opening for WALK THE MOON, Neon Trees, Grouplove, MS MR, Twenty One Pilots, and Two Door Cinema Club, played Lollapalooza and Firefly Festivals, and closed the year with a sold out Live Nation "Ones To Watch '14" headline tour. The release of their self-titled debut EP gained them critical acclaim and brought them their national TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live, performing their debut single "Dreaming" which was produced by Captain Cuts. You can hear "Dreaming" HERE and see the video HERE, which has 4.8 million views.

Supporters like Vogue, Interview Magazine, Idolator, BuzzFeed etc all praised the band's catchy songs and invigoration live shows. Neon Gold called "Mason Jar" "a sepia splash of power-pop that crystallizes into a starscraping smash before the verse even kicks in, as stadium-sized Of Monsters And Men gang vocals ride high on the buoyant flair of Smallpools' youthful, Two Door-esque ebullience." In addition, NYLON Magazine premiered the Charli XCX vs Twin Idol Remix of "Dreaming". Check out more from their Billboard interview.

Smallpools consists of Sean (vocals/keys), Mike (guitar), Joe (bass) and Beau (drums).
