With this tribute to her mentor, Laury Shelley says Thank You to the maestro, Michel Legrand - now celebrating his 80th birthday year - with this special show. Concentrating on songs that she performed with Legrand and some obscure selections, Laury will bring, to quote noted critic/writer, Mort Goode, her passionate instrument to the Metropolitan stage. Laury will share her favorite stories of this time, but mostly the music, of Michel Legrand.

Music Director/Accompanist for these special shows is Russ Kassoff. Special Guest is Marcus Simeone.

Laury Shelley started her career as vocal soloist with Michel Legrand touring in the U.S.A. During these amazing years, Laury made her debut at the prestigious Carnegie Hall, while also appearing at The Sahara Hotel in Vegas, Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver, Miami’s Stars Under The Stars Concert Series at Marine Stadium and The Westbury Theatre in New York. Laury has shared stages with Tony Bennett, Buddy Rich, Cleo Laine and John Dankworth while also performing and recording with Phil Woods, Ron Carter, Grady Tate, Randy Brecker and Joe Beck. Other performances include: Jazz Showcase, Katerina's, Coq d'Or & Palm Court at The Drake Hotel, Maxim's in Chicago, The Cinegrill in LA, Iridium Jazz Club in NY, Summerfest in Milwaukee, Chicago Jazz Festival and the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis with Legrand. Laury can also be heard singing her Grammy nominated duet with Michel Legrand of the Academy Award nominated song Pieces of Dreams on the recordings "Michel Legrand and Friends" and also on the CD "Michel Legrand The RCA Years", that includes musical luminaries Lena Horne and Jack Jones. Russ Kassoff is an accomplished jazz pianist, conductor, composer, orchestrator, and arranger, whose varied talents are much valued and on display in the music world. In the words of the Chairman of the Board, "You are the best." -Frank Sinatra, '87. In 2007 Russ appeared as a featured guest on Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz on NPR as a result of the release of his critically acclaimed CD “SOMEWHERE”. In addition to being music director of numerous events, leading his own big band, he has accompanied Frank Sinatra, Liza Minnelli, Rita Moreno, Charles Aznavour, Perry Como, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Vic Damone, Carly Simon, Luciano Pavarotti, and Debbie Gravitte in a lifetime career of spectacular concerts, to name a few. In the jazz world he has enjoyed a nearly 30 year association with Bucky Pizzarelli and has recorded with the likes of Red Norvo, Chris Connor and Sylvia Syms. He currently can be heard several times a year at the Knickerbocker in NYC with various personnel and leads his own big band - The RKBB - in concert twice a year at the John Birks Gillespie auditorium in the Bahai Center - also in NYC. His current CD "BIRD FLY BY" was in the top 10 for 52 weeks and achieved #1 status in 2010 on the Jazz channel of Music Choice.

Marcus Simeone - Since his sensational debut in January of 2000, Marcus has emerged as one of the most celebrated singers to grace the stages of Manhattan's nightclubs since the days of Streisand and the Bon Soir. After having staged nearly a dozen distinct shows, Marcus has received multiple awards from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs and Back Stage among his many accolades. He has also been invited to perform at the annual Mabel Mercer Cabaret Convention, representing today's scene, numerous times.Simeone's eagerly awaited second live CD, Everything Must Change was released in April of 2010. The album showcases the various musical styles he has perfected including a demanding song list that includes R & B/Pop tunes as diverse as "Many Rivers To Cross," "A Change Is Gonna Come" and "Everything Must Change." His voice soars with ease through some classic and rarely heard tunes that also includes "Since You Stayed Here" and "There'll Be Some Changes Made Today." All the electricity that sparked that exciting show to date has been captured on the new live album. Musical director Barry Levitt heads the trio. Marcus' third and latest CD "Haunted" was just released on the Miranda Music Label.

Ralph Lampkin Jr., recently acclaimed the "King of Chicago Cabaret" by Rick Kogan of WGN RADIO, has had a eclectic career.
