Directed by Daniel Evans wants the production to star the six actors who originated their roles onstage in Sheffield: Kenny Doughty, Sidney Cole, Kieran O'Brien, Craig Gazey, Roger Morlidge and Simon Rouse. The Full Monty will begin rehearsals in January 2014.

The production will be adding new material and songs for its West End run. Beaufoy originally wrote the screenplay for the film, and his stage adaptation of The Full Monty uses songs from the movie, including iconic songs from the film by Donna Summer, Rod Stewart, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.

In 1997, a British film about six out-of-work Sheffield steelworkers who had nothing to lose, took the world by storm taking $256 million worldwide and becoming one of the most successful British films ever made. And now the boys are back, live on stage, only this time, for them, it really has to be....THE FULL MONTY.

The show will then receive a two-week, pre-West End try-out at Cardiff's New Theatre, beginning January 20, followed by another two weeks at Theatre Royal, Bath, beginning February 3.

Compared to its West End competition, The Full Monty has significantly reduced its prices, ranging from £9.50 to £52.50.

This is Yorkshire born Beaufoy's first work for the theatre. As a screenwriter his work includes Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, 127 Hours, Slumdog Millionaire (Academy Award, Golden Globe and BAFTA for Best Adapted Screenplay), Burn Up, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, Yasmin, Blow Dry, Among Giants and Yellow.
