Signature Theatre Announces THE NORA EPHRON SERIES Screenings
Signature Theatre has announced the next wave of upcoming supplemental programs, which allow more intimate and direct access to a playwright's vision and process. Unless noted, all supplemental programs are free and open to the general public.
SIGNATURE CINEMA - As part of its commitment to honor and celebrate a writer's body of work, Signature is thrilled to present the Nora Ephron Series as part of its Signature Cinema program. An iconic voice in American Cinema, Ephron, who passed away this past year, was a writer of fierce intelligence, humor, and warmth whose films have become cultural touchstones that have gone on to delight and inspire audiences and artists alike. Signature is proud to present three films from Ephron's early career as a screenwriter. Tickets for Signature Cinema are $8 for subscribers and $13 for general public.
Meryl Streep and Jack Nicholson are writers Rachel and Mark, whose marriage is severely tested when Rachel discovers Mark's affair. Based on her novel of the same name, Heartburn is one of Ephron's earliest explorations of matters of the heart and the challenges inherent in love, trust, and marriage.
Based on the true story of union activist Karen Silkwood, whose conscience is awakened when she discovers unsafe practices at the nuclear facility where she works. Nominated for five Academy Awards, including best screenplay, Silkwood was Ephron's feature film debut and her first collaboration with Mike Nichols and Meryl Streep.
Plus one more Nora Ephron film to be announced!
