world of childhood that will capture the hearts and imaginations of all ages, as Sierra Stages presents J.M. Barrie's PETER PAN from July 10 through August 2 at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City.

PETER PAN was first introduced by J.M. Barrie in 1901 in the short story, "Peter Pan, or the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up." The stage version was introduced in 1904 and has since been flying in theatres, capturing the imaginations and hearts of audiences worldwide. The Sierra Stages production of PETER PAN is directed by Jac Royce, with fight choreography by Joey Fechtel, set design by Mike Edwards, lighting design by Erin Beatie, and costume design by Jill Kelly.

Performances of PETER PAN are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, and Sundays at 2 PM. General Admission for the preview performances on July 10 and July 11 is only $15. General Admission for all other performances is $25 ($18 for Youth age 17 and under). For those audience members who prefer a specific seat location and wish to provide additional financial support for Sierra Stages, Reserved Seating for all performances is available for $35.

This summer, Sierra Stages also offers a 5-day introduction to theatre workshop for high school-aged students entitled "Young Performers Forum". This fall, Sierra Stages concludes its sixth season with the charming Off-Broadway musical YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN from September 18 through October 12 at the Off Center Stage in Grass Valley. In addition, "Theater by the Book" -- the series of informal play readings co-presented by Sierra Stages and the Miners Foundry Cultural Center in Nevada City will continue this fall with readings in September, October and November.

Sierra Stages is a tax-exempt not-for-profit community theatre with a goal to enrich the culture of western Nevada County. In its first five seasons, Sierra Stages presented 20 plays and musicals and received 38 Elly Award nominations for its productions.
