According to the Daily Mail, Sheila Hancock and Lee Evans will star in the new play Barking in Essex by Clive Exton at Wyndham's Theatre, beginning September 16, 2013.

Hancock will play 'Emmie Packer', the matriarch of a crime family, and Evans will play 'Darnley', her son. In the play, Emmie's other son is hoping to retrieve more than £3 million of untraceable notes upon his release from prison, which he hid before he was sentenced.

Produced by Michael Edwards and Carole Winter, the production will be directed by Harry Burton.

Hancock last played Wallis Simpson's lawyer in Hampstead's The Last of the Duchess. She has appeared on the West End in Sister Act, Cabaret, Sweeney Todd, Annie, One Over the Eight, Make Me An Offer and more, as well as Entertaining Mr. Sloane on Broadway.
