Following in the steps of this year's celebrities - among them Sutton Foster, Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs - to appear in lessons on the long-running children's show Sesame Street, today PBS announced the scheduled celebrities to appear in next season's episodes.

The Washington Post reports that "celebrities set to make cameos include Mark Ruffalo, Sofia Vergara and Seth Rogen; talk-show hosts Craig Ferguson and George Lopez; and musicians Jay Sean and Bruno Mars" as well as Nicole Kidman, Carmelo Anthony, Robin Williams, and Sonia Sotomayor.

Sesame Street is an American children's television series created by Joan Ganz Cooney and Lloyd Morrisett. The program is known for its combination of Jim Henson's Muppets, animation, short films, humor, and cultural references.

The program was conceived in 1966 during discussions between Cooney and Morrisett. The series premiered on public television stations on November 10, 1969 to positive reviews. By its 40th anniversary in 2009, Sesame Street was the fifteenth-highest rated children's television show in the United States.
