The Segal Center presents an all-day celebration of women in international theatre featuring Rwandan playwright, novelist, screenwriter, poet, actress, and humanitarian Odile Gakire Katese. Events include:

2pm-3:30pm: Odile Gakire Katese in Her Own Words. Including a reading of excepts from her plays Book of Life (directed by Ludovica Villa-Hauser) and Ngwino Ubeho (directed by Marcy Arlin), and a screening of excerpts from Sweet Dreams, Lisa Fruchtman and Rob Fruchtman's work-in-progress documentary about Rwanda.

4:00pm - 6pm: Status and Projects of Women Working in International Theatre (Panel). Moderated by Anne Cattaneo (Lincoln Center Theater). With Deborah Asiimwe (Uganda), Martha Coigney (USA), Odile Gakire Katese (Rwanda), Dijana Milosevic (Serbia), and Gerda Stevenson (Scotland).

6:30pm: An Evening with Odile Gakire Katese. With further readings from Book of Life and Ngwino Ubeho as well as clips from the documentary Sweet Dreams, plus a public discussion and Q&A moderated by Eliza Bent (American Theatre).
