The Long Island Repertory Co. and the Scully Mansion are presenting Lemon Tree, a play about a love story later in life, Feb. 11 and 12 just days before Valentine's Day to benefit Seatuck.

The groups are presenting a production of the play by Claude Solnik with a cast of veteran Long Island actors, presenting good theater at a gorgeous venue to raise money for a great cause.

The idea is to present a good play at a gorgeous venue for a good cause, while giving Long Islanders another option just before Valentine's Day.

Judith Anderson, Robert Hagan, Adrienne Pellegrino and Jennifer Alexander star in this reprise production of the play, that debuted earlier at Theater294 and Theater for the New city, before running at Scully Mansion, 550 S. Bay Ave., Islip, Sat., Feb. 11 at 8 p.m. and Sun. Feb 12 at 3 p.m.

The play, directed by Rich Jimenez, tells the story of a couple who meet later in life as the LI Rep seeks to bring contemporary stories to Long Island audiences. Tickets are available for $20 and $15 for students online by clicking Tix. or at the door.

Lemon Tree is the latest work by Claude Solnik, whose "Year of the Iguana," about Tennessee and Rose Williams, was recently presented at Studio Theatre Long Island in Lindenhurst.

Bare Bones Theater also presented his work and he was among the winners at the Northport One Act Festival.

"Long Island has a lot of groups that present well known plays," Solnik said. "I think it's important to present ne work that stories about our life today as well as the past."

Judith Anderson has appeared in dozens of plays on Long Island, helping keeping theater a part of the region's cultural and entertainment landscape.

Robert Hagan has appeared in numerous plays on Long Island and New York City, most recently starring in a Bare Bones Theater production.

Adrienne Pellegrino has appeared in numerous productions at the Arena, Studio Theatre Long Island and other groups.

Jennifer Alexander, an actress who has appeared in many plays as well as television, recently appeared on TV on Kevin Can Wait starring Kevin James.

Charles Calabrese, co-founder of the Long Island Rep., said his group is seeking to present "well known plays and original work," calling Lemon Tree a "superb play with an excellent cast."
