Composer/Lyricist Scott Evan Davis will present a staged revue of his music in August at Catalina Jazz Club in downtown Hollywood, CA. There will be one show: tonight, August 21st, 2013 at 8;30pm. Titled Picture Perfect, the show's riff on relationships of every kind is summed up in the opening line of the title song:

"If you think the perfect picture hangs on someone else's wall, look a little closer, until you can see it all...."

Picture Perfect draws on new, original material as well as Davis's debut recording, Cautiously Optimistic: The Music of Scott Evan Davis, released in 2011 by Sonic Landscapes Music. He has assembled an exciting group of performers to interpret his compositions, staged in group and solo arrangements. They are Joshua Dixon, Jaime Hartmann, Vicky Modica, Erik Sisco and Kim Grogg. Picture Perfect is Directed by Lennie Watts with Musical Direction and arrangements by David Snyder.

Scott Evan Davis is a self-taught pianist who attended Emerson College and AMDA. In 2011, though he was a virtual unknown at the time, his debut recording featured such theater and cabaret luminaries as Faith Prince, Liz Callaway, Jason Graae and Natalie Douglas. In a period of two years on the New York scene, Davis's music has become lauded and sought after internationally. Last spring he was the recipient of a Courage in Theater Award from Musical Theater International for the musical A Powerful Day, which he wrote with autistic students at the Spectrum School in Manhattan under the auspices of Arts Connection. He recently performed a concert in the UK with esteemed composers Georgia Stitt and Michael Patrick Walker, and was 2012's first ever winner of the Broadway World Award for Best Song (If We Say Goodbye). He has just been contracted, with librettist Christy Hall, to write the musical INDIGO, about an autistic child.
