New York-based composer/lyricist, Scott Evan Davis, has announced the release date of his second recording, NEXT, on Sonic Landscapes Music (BMI).

Co-produced with his arranger and conductor, David Snyder, NEXT was recorded with a 12-piece orchestra and features guest singers, including Robert Cuccioli, Karen Mason (for whom he wrote the song "Save Me The Rose") Lisa Howard, Derek Klena and more, on each track.

Davis, whose writing is rooted in the musical theater, uses his title to tell part of the story of this recording: all of the songs are sung by characters who are beginning the "next" phase of their lives, in one way or another.

NEXT will be available as a digital download on iTunes on February 29, and on Amazon and CD Baby, as well as other online retailers the first week of March. A listening party is planned on February 28th from 4-6pm at The Duplex in New York City. Reservations are essential. Contact www.purplepass.com/index.php#128136.

Davis released his debut album, "CAUTIOUSLY OPTIMISTIC," in 2012, with featured performances by Faith Prince, Liz Callaway, Jason Graae, Lisa Howard, Nikki Renee Daniels and other prominent theater and cabaret names. Since then, he has presented concerts of his work widely across the U.S, and in London, Dublin and Australia, and his songs, "I Am" and "Ready to Fly," are being sold globally as show choir pieces. Davis is a Broadway World Award winner for his original song, "If We Say Goodbye." In addition he has received three MAC Award nominations for his revue, PICTURE PERECT, and his songs "Save Me The Rose" and "Just a Word." PICTURE PERECT made its London and Australian debut after sold out runs in New York and LA. Davis has performed and presented his music at a variety of NYC venues, including 54 Below.

A vocal coach and musical director for the past 13 years, Davis has been a resident composer/musical director at Brooklyn Children's Theatre since 2011. His work with autistic children is featured in the 2014 documentary, "Spectrum of Hope" the story of 10 musical theater students, their families, and their teachers as they travel from their special needs school in New York City's Lower East Side to compete in the Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.

Scott is currently working on his newest musical, INDIGO, as well as developing another show with producer/writer Phil Geoffrey Bond. In June 2016, his song "If the World Only Knew" based on the stories and journaling of the autistic students of P94 Spectrum School in NYC, will be performed at the Gershwin Theatre by a huge crowd of Broadway stars as the finale for the benefit BELIEVE NYC, which raises money and awareness for autism.
