Greetings from the Nuyorican Poets Cafe! We have big news this week.

Tony-winning playwright and performer Sarah Jones will return to the Nuyo for a limited run of performances in January and February. These shows will feature Sarah's best-known characters as well as all-new material. The performance dates are Jan 17, 18, 21, 23, 24, 28 29 and Feb 1, 4, 7, 11, 14, 15 and 28. - This Wednesday night (12/15), renowned poet Sandra María Esteves performs at the Nuyo with accompaniment by Latin jazz greats Bobby Sanabria, Ray Martinez and Ibrahim González. Esteves is one of the founding poets of the Nuyorican, and her work has influenced a generation of Latino writers. The event will also include an open mic, hosted by Jesus Papoleto Melendez and Mariposa, two of the Cafe's favorite poets. Sandra María Esteves will return to the Nuyorican on December 19 for a symposium about her work. Check out the flier for these events; tickets are available via the links below.

- Rome Neal's exciting adaptation of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar set in Africa continues at the Cafe through December 19. Performances take place Thursday through Saturday at 7PM and Sunday at 3PM; see below for further details.
