PAM ANN: GALACTIC 2014
December 30 & 31 at 7:00 PM
January 2 - January 5 at 9:30 PM
$30 / $50 on NYE
Arm Doors, Cross Check and Buckle the F**k Up, the inimitable world-class air bitch, Australia's very own Pam Annreturns to Joe's Pub in her new show Galactic 2014. Iconic international air hostess to the stars, Pam Ann - the alter-ego of Melbourne-born comedian-writer-producer Caroline Reid - is BACK in her filthiest, funniest, most explosive show to date. With enough chutzpah and insider knowledge to rival a Qantas CEO, no one does airline satire quite like Pam Ann. Pam's genius mix of camp, culture, humor and Pucci-clad fabulousness has seen her crew Elton John's private jet, share a stage on a stadium tour of the UK with Cher, and count Madonna in her legion of cult-like dedicated fans worldwide. Having travelled the world over and over, Caroline Reid has enough frequent flyer miles to transport a small country. She has sold out shows around the world from Poland, Germany, UK, Norway, Scandinavia, France, Ireland, USA, Canada, Switzerland, Finland and Dubai.

Sandra Bernhard: SANDYLAND
December 30 at 9:30 PM
December 31 at 9:00 PM & 11:00 PM
SOLD OUT
Sandra Bernhard and her band The Flawless Zircons return to Joe's Pub at The Public for her annual residency and not-to-be-missed New Year's Eve special when she celebrates and reviews the highs and lows of 2013 with hysterical insight, outspoken views and an outrageous mouth. In this one-of-a-kind live show, Bernhard sharply blends theatre, rock-n-roll and stand-up with a little burlesque & cabaret. "Just below the surface, you sense the same roving critical eye that misses nothing" raved the New York Times of Bernhard's Joe's Pub performance in 2012. Bernhard's brilliant unity of hilarious diatribes on the state of modern culture and classic rock attitude burns smart, still having all the raucous energy of youth. The always entertaining Bernhard has been wowing, and sometimes shocking, audiences since starting her career at LA's famed Comedy Store in the 1970's, going on to become a favorite on the live-show comedy circuit nationally, while also forging a career in film, television and on Broadway.

The iconic voice behind Michael Jackson on "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" - Michael's biggest hit; on Aretha Franklin's No.1 hit "Jump To It," Billy Idol's No. 1 hit "Mony Mony," Luther Vandross's "Stop To Love" and "Wait For Love," her contagious laugh and vocals on "Bad Boy/Having A Party," and so many others. She also toured and sang live with Luther Vandross and sang all of the Tammi Terrell duets with Marvin Gaye on his last tour. She has worked with some of the best artists, performers and producers in the business, such as Quincy Jones, Luther Vandross, Bette Midler, Billy Idol, David Bowie, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez, Lauryn Hill, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Patty LaBelle, Deborah Cox, Michael Jackson, and many others. Paulette's Mom used to tell her that before she could utter cohesive baby-talk, Paulette was singing songs. Did it have something to do with the fact that her Mom sang all the time? More than likely it did. The lyrical and vocal dye was cast and singing was in her DNA. "Paulette McWilliams is a great jazz singer - better yet, a great singer." - Chaka Khan

LARRY KRONE AND FAMILY
January 5 at 7:30 PM
$12
Artist/Entertainer Larry Krone has been bewildering and delighting audiences in the art and music scenes since his debut music show "I'll Never Break Your Heart" at New York's Café Noir in 1997. What started as a concept-based art performance exploring masculine identity in country music has evolved into a full-on family country music revue complete with Krone's own handmade costumes, wholesome harmonies, special guests, and a band! Larry Krone and Family: Together Again celebrates Krone's current solo visual art exhibit "Together Again" being held at Pierogi in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The exhibit brings Krone back together with the art world after some time away, while the stage show brings him back together with his original performing partner, his sister Janet "Sissy" Kennedy as well as other friends and family including his fiancé Jim Andralis (The Isotoners, The Foil Swans) and close friends Bridget Everett (Bridget Everett and the Tender Moments), Clint Asay (Clint Michigan), Erin Markey (Puppy Love: A Stripper's Tail), and Christy Davis & Julie Delano (Gold, Kansas State Flower). The sound and look of the night is decidedly country. Larry Krone accompanies himself on ukelele on most songs, joined periodically by the Gold Tones (Christy Davis on drums and Julie Delano on Bass), Jim Andralis on accordion and guitar, and Clint Asay on guitar. Throughout the show, everyone onstage will be fully costumed in clothes handmade by Krone under his label Larry Krone BRAND. Unlike the Grecian draped, dramatic gowns of Krone's other, more famous label, House of Larréon, BRAND--inspired by Nudie of Hollywood, Minnie Pearl, and Dolly Parton's song "Coat of Many Colors"--uses gingham, rhinestones, and patchwork to exaggerated degrees meant to thrill audiences as much as the music.
