According to a listing on European arts TV channel Mezzo's website, the current Theatre du Chatelet production of Stephen Sondheim & James Lapine's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE in Paris will be shown on the channel in addition to being heard in the upcoming Radio France live audio broadcast of the Julian Ovenden-led revival.

UPDATE: A representative from Mezzo has confirmed the filming.

The production is scheduled to premiere on the channel on May 5 - a Sunday, of course - with two subsequent showings on May 24 and May 28.

The original Broadway production of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, directed by James Lapine, starring Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters, was famously filmed for American Playhouse on PBS and then released on VHS and DVD.

As previously reported, on April 25, Radio France will broadcast the production on their website, available here. The station has previously broadcast the Theatre du Chatelet productions of Sondheim's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC and SWEENEY TODD.
