STRICTLY BALLROOM THE MUSICAL Extends in Melbourne

Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom the Musical opened this weekend at her Majesty's Theatre in Melbourne, Australia. Following the acclaimed first night, three weeks of performances have been added to the engagement, which is now playing through May 3, 2015.

Strictly Ballroom the Musical presented by Global Creatures and directed by Baz Luhrmann is a brand new production of the 1992 classic and much loved Australian film.

Strictly Ballroom the Musical is the inspiring story of a championship ballroom dancer who defies all the rules to follow his heart. This uplifting and courageous tale originated as a stage play that Baz Luhrmann devised with a group of students at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney back in 1984.
