London's West End theater producers Michael Harrison and David Ian's screen-to-stage adaptation of the 1992 massive film "The Bodyguard," which originally starred the late Whitney Houston, who played the fictional singing superstar Rachel Marron, and Kevin Costner, who played the title role, in the celluloid version, have recently released a new promo trailer for "The Bodyguard's" ongoing run at the Adelphi Theatre in London (Strand, London WC2R 0NS, United Kingdom).

The live production, which officially opened in November 2012, welcomed its newest stars--featured in the latest promo reel--soul singer Beverley Knight (Rachel Marron) and Tristan Gemmill (Frank Farmer, Rachel's bodyguard) last month.

In the video, Knight performs Houston's timeless pop songs "Queen of the Night," "I'm Every Woman," "I Have Nothing," "Run to You," "I Will Always Love You," and "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" to accompany the polished video clips from the actual production.

However, "The musical is not a tribute to Houston," Knight told the press after a performance last month.

"Obviously we all acknowledge that she's now passed away, which is so horrible to even contemplate.

"But this is very much about 'The Bodyguard' as opposed to Whitney. We're quite careful to make that distinction," she added.

Similar to jukebox musicals "Mamma Mia!" and "Jersey Boys," "The Bodyguard Musical" uses pre-existing popular songs to tell its story.

The musical, based on the screenplay by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, features book by Drama Desk Award-nominated playwright Alexander Dinelaris and direction by Thea Sharrock, who also directed Daniel Radcliffe in "Equus."

Additionally, the production features designs by Tim Hatley, lighting design by Mark Henderson, sound design by Richard Brooker, video design by Duncan McLean, choreography by Arthur Pita, orchestrations by Chris Egan and musical supervision by Mike Dixon.
