Madama Butterfly premières on the harbour stage, tonight 21 March 2014. Check out a sneak peek below!

A contemporary styling of the enduring love story about a Japanese geisha abandoned by her American lover, set against the spectacular backdrop of Sydney Harbour by outdoor theatre specialists La Fura dels Baus. Celebrated Japanese soprano Hiromi Omura will alternate in the title role with Hyeseoung Kwon, directed by Alex Ollé. International tenors Georgy Vasiliev and Andeka Gorrotxategi alternate as Pinkerton. Sydney Harbour will transform into an outdoor opera theatre complete with bars, Japanese-inspired eateries and nightly fireworks.
