Season 5 of BET's THE GAME will premiere on January 10, 2012. The series, originally broadcast on the CW, is now part of the BET lineup. The sitcom stars Tia Mowry (Sister, Sister) as Melanie Barnett, a young woman who is thrust into the world of professional football when her boyfriend becomes a wide receiver for the San Diego Sabers.

At the end of season four of THE GAME, Derwin (Pooch Hall) and Melanie (Tia Mowry-Hardict) were last seen having difficulties getting pregnant, Malik's (Hosea Chanchez) career and love life were headed in a downard spiral and Jason Pitts (Cory Bell)'s old romantic interest, Camille (Stacey Dash) made a surprise appearance in his life while at a press conference for Malik's replacement. Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) and Melanie were left in the midst of a heated disagreement over the future of Derwin's career. 

Season 5 will see further drama as well as some celebrity cameo appearances, including recording artist Brandy and comedian/actor DeRay Davis.
