On this week's So You Think You Can Dance, top 10 finalist Alex Wong, with all-star partner Lauren Gottlieb, endeavored to venture out of his comfort zone and tackle a Broadway-style number by Tyce Diorio, "Summertime."  In the rehearsal footage beforehand, Diorio said that it's "Broadway inspired by the Fosse style but with [his] take on it." Wong, primarily a ballet dancer, however, did not hit a high note with the SYTYCD judges, who suggested lacked the looseness and heat to truly represent Foose.  Dario was also chided for "not knowing his Fosse," as Zaptoit.com reports. On the episode, judge Nigel Lythgoe suggested Wong watch KISS ME, KATE and THE LITTLE PRINCE for inspiration.

Choreographer Bob Fosse was most known for his particular way of dancing which he showed in productions such as THE PAJAMA GAME, SWEET CHARITY, and CHICAGO. He had won eight Tonys from choreography as well as one for directing. FOSSE, a revue featuring Fosse's work, opened in 1999 on Broadway and ran for two and a half years.

So You Think You Can Dance was created by Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe and comes from 19 Entertainment Ltd. and Dick Clark productions.
