SLO Little Theatre presents a staged reading of Richard Greenberg's TAKE ME OUT, a story about baseball and the tensions that are found both on and off the field.

Darren Lemming, the star center fielder for the New York Empires, is young, rich, and so convinced of his popularity that he casually announces that he is gay. The news is not readily accepted by everyone, leading to building tensions and violence. Angry and lonely Darren finds unlikely solace in his new business manager Mason Marzac - a brilliant but repressed man who finds the ecstatic beauty in baseball while everyone else becomes disenchanted with the game.

Performances September 26-27, Friday at 7 pm and Saturday at 2 pm and 7 pm at the SLO LITTLE THEATRE, 888 Morro Street in San Luis Obispo. Tickets available at slolittletheare.org or call (805) 786-2440.
