Manila, Philippines--Direct from London's West End and its UK and Ireland Tour, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, produced by Stage Entertainment and Chichester Festival Theatre, in cooperation with David Atkins Enterprises, Michael Cassel Group, Concertus Manila, Dainty Group, and Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, opens box office to the public via TicketWorld (Call 632-8919999 or visit ticketworld.com.ph).

With tickets starting at PhP1,500 only, SINGIN' IN RAIN will run at The Theatre at Solaire (Solaire Resort and Casino Entertainment City, Paranaque 1 Aseana Avenue, Paranaque City) from Thursday, August 20, to Sunday, September 6.

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN features performances by Grant Almirall ("Jersey Boys") as silent film leading man Don Lockwood and Bethany Dickson ("The Sound of Music," "Grease") as the aspiring actress Kathy Selden, plus a big tap dance number across a rain soaked stage during Act One, where the first three rows of the audience, who will be provided plastic rain coats, may get wet.

"I can't wait for Filipino audiences to experience it: that'll be a lot of water [12,000 liters of water] pouring down onstage and getting people wet!" Lunchbox Theatrical Productions Chief Executive James Cundall told BroadwayWorld.com in a previous interview.

"SINGIN' IN THE RAIN has all the makings of a Tinseltown tabloid headline--the starlet, the leading man, and a love affair that could change lives and make or break careers! In silent movies, Don Lockwood (Almirall) and Lina Lamont, played by Taryn Lee Hudson, are a hot item, but behind the scenes things aren't always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile, Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career in 'talking pictures' without the help of a talented young actress (Dickson) to do the talking and singing for her," its synopsis says.

The show's musical numbers, created by composer Nacio Herb Brown and lyricist Arthur Freed, based on the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film by special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures Inc., include "Singin' in the Rain," "Make 'Em Laugh," and "Good Mornin'."

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, which earned two Tony Award nominations: Best Book of a Musical (Betty Comden and Adolph Green) and Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical (Don Correia), made its Broadway debut on July 2, 1985 at the Gershwin Theatre.

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, which runs two hours and 50 minutes, is suitable for children at least age five.
