SIMPSON's Character to 'Pass Away' on Upcoming Season of FOX Series

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 'The Simpsons' executive producer Al Jean has hinted that he will kill off a character voiced by an Emmy winning actor sometime in mid- to late-2014.

Jean shared with reporters that his writing staff is "working on a script where a character will pass away." "We are doing this story for the same reason we do all others -- we think it has a good emotional through line," Jean told The Hollywood Reporter today. "The story will be produced this year though it may air in season 26." While he did not reveal any specific details Who The fated character will be, Jean shared that "the actor playing the character won an Emmy" for the role.

In the history of the long-running FOX animated series, only two characters have been killed off including Homer's Las Vegas wife, Amber (season 16) and Ned's wife Maude Flanders (season 11).
